SciCAR Conference 2026

The tenth edition of the SciCAR Conference will take place on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2026 – once again at the Erich Brost Institute for International Journalism in Dortmund.

How do you conduct research using AI agents without blindly trusting them? How do stories emerge from satellite data, open sources or research data? And which tools really help in day-to-day editorial work?

At SciCAR 2026, journalists, developers and researchers will come together to discuss precisely these issues – in a practical, critical manner and with plenty of hands-on sessions.

Whether you’re part of a local news desk, an investigative team, a science or politics desk, a trainee or a freelance journalist – if you want to know how journalism will work tomorrow, you’ve come to the right place.

The organisers TU Dortmund, Wissenschaftspressekonferenz, Science Media Center Germany and Netzwerk Recherche invite anyone interested to attend.
